Derek is the co-founder and Chief of Strategy at Vali Consulting. A seasoned entrepreneur and marketing strategist, Derek has a proven track record of helping financial advisory firms—primarily Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs)—accelerate growth through innovative lead generation and appointment-setting solutions. Before co-founding Vali, he built a successful trading company operating on the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. He later became an owner and partner at a nationally recognized RIA, where he honed his expertise in wealth management and advisory services. It was here that Derek identified the inefficiencies in traditional lead generation for financial advisors—an insight that inspired the creation of Vali Consulting.

Specializing in growth strategy, Derek's highest priority is developing new relationships and partnerships for Vali Consulting. He focuses on creating meaningful collaborations that drive real value, ensuring that every partnership contributes to long-term, measurable success. His approach blends deep industry expertise with a keen ability to identify and cultivate strategic opportunities, helping Vali and its partners achieve sustainable growth.

What distinguishes Derek is his ability to combine strategic vision with execution. He thrives on building trust, forging high-impact partnerships, and designing innovative pathways for expansion. 

Outside of work, Derek lives in Ada, Michigan, with his wife, Jen, and their three children. They enjoy golfing, boating, and spending time outdoors, making the most of Michigan’s seasons.
